One pound in Britain is now 151 in Bangladeshi taka. All previous records for the pound's high against the Bangladeshi taka were broken on Monday (6 November). It is said that after talking to several money transfers in London, last Friday afternoon against the taka , the pound was valued at Tk 148. After the weekly holiday in Britain on Saturday and Sunday, the transaction started on Monday morning at the price of 151 taka. The record exchange rate of the money against the pound has created panic in the community. Commenting on this matter, Mahbubur Rahman Shiblu, the owner of PBL Services Limited, a money transfer institution in London, said that today's rate has broken all the records of the past. There has been a stir in the community seeing such high exchange rates. Even after the rate of 151 taka, the government is giving more incentives. However, the depreciating value of money against the pound is a picture of the poor state of Bangladesh's economy, which is worrying for us as Bangladeshis.
