Over 170 firefighters are fighting a fire at a police station

Emergency personnel are responding to a fire at an east London police station, where the building’s roof is “completely ablaze.”

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said that over 175 firefighters and 30 fire engines responded to the incident at the Forest Gate police station on Romford Road.

On Tuesday, just after 4:15 p.m., the brigade was called in, and firefighters from Stratford, Leytonstone, and Plaistow responded.

The Metropolitan Police reported on X, formerly known as Twitter, that there was a fire on the third floor of the building and that no injuries were reported.

Because of the quantity of smoke, residents have been asked to keep their doors and windows closed.

The LFB reported that there are road closures in the region and that people are advised to avoid it.

As of now, the fire’s origin is unknown.
