Rushanara Ali, the first and five-time MP of Bangladeshi origin, has been appointed as a parliamentary under secretary of state in the ministry of housing, communities and local government.
She was elected this time for the fifth time from the Bethnal Green and Stepney seat in Tower Hamlets with 15,896 votes.
Rushnara Ali has been elected MP for five consecutive terms since 2010. Rushnara Ali was born in Bhurki village of Bishwanath Upazila in Sylhet. She came to London with her parents.
