Maleeha Nadeem's mother, Bushra, left Pakistan for the first time in her 66-year-old life to attend her daughter's graduation ceremony last September.

As Bushra is not a British citizen Maleeha is now facing a huge £30,000 NHS bill for her care, which she says she cannot afford. The family have launched a GoFundMe and are asking their community to help them ensure Bushra can get the care she needs.

"It has been so distressing for us all," Maleeha told . "This is the first time she had left the country. She has never been on any holidays in her life.

"When I planned this trip for my mum to come to my graduation, I never imagined this would happen. It is a nightmare for us."
