Tesco enforces new 'passport' rule in major part of store as EU crackdown looms

Amidst an impending EU sustainability crackdown, Tesco has apparently decided to implement "digital passports" across their clothes line. Amid an impending EU assault on sustainability, Tesco has reportedly agreed to enforce "digital passports" across their clothes collection. The biggest store in Britain has said that it will provide customers with more specific information about every item in its F&F fashion line, including the places where the clothing's ingredients are made. This program is consistent with Brussels' efforts to improve supply chain transparency by enacting new rules that mandate the use of digital product passports (DPPs) by businesses operating in the eurozone. Businesses that sell everything from toys and clothing to furniture will be required by these regulations to provide comprehensive information.

It has been said that the plan is similar to the introduction of comprehensive nutrition labels for foods and beverages.across an effort to combat greenwashing and enhance supply chain procedures, it will be progressively adopted over the course of the next eight years across a variety of sectors. Nocturnal Child's founder Andrew Xeni stated, "What they're doing is, in essence, saying consumers should have the right and access to a level of information that enables them to make an informed buying decision, so that they're aware of the environmental impact of that product that they're buying." Nocturnal Child has already tested the "passports."
