The government has fined Twyford News, located on Twyford Avenue in Stamshaw, £40,000. The punishment imposed on a British Indian owned company Agni Retails Ltd. was reported on the government's website in a quarterly report showing civil fines for "for illegal working given to employers in London and the South East." Immigration officers raided a nearby house on Wilson Road, which was alleged to house Twyford News employees. Four individuals were arrested after cash and expired passports were discovered. The three-bedroom terraced house featured a bunk bed in the main downstairs room. In total, two Sri Lankan men aged 23 and 24 were released, while three Indian men aged 24, 25, and 29 were held.

As previously reported, anyone found guilty of using illegal workers faces a £20,000 fine per worker. Matt Wilkinson, assistant director for immigration enforcement in Portsmouth, has stated that the operation was carried out in response to "allegations of illegal working"."We visited a business where we've gone and encountered a suspected illegal worker," the witnesses said. "We made one arrest at the shop and four at the residence where the people lived. We shall try to comprehend their predicament and the things that contribute to it. We are attempting to contact the shop owner to obtain their side of the story. Any foreign nationals lacking the right to work are subject to enforcement action."
