After her 27-year-old son Benjamin Keough committed suicide in 2020, Presley—the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley—kept him at home with her instead of putting him in the mortuary.

In a biography written by Presley's daughter Riley Keough, 35, Benjamin was kept on dry ice because there are no rules in California that specify when a body must be disposed of.

"It was really important for my mum to have ample time to say goodbye to him, the same way she'd done with her dad," actress Keough of Daisy Jones & the Six stated.

She writes, "And I would go and sit in there with him," according to reports.

The narrative continues by describing how Presley's daughter and she agreed to have a tattoo that resembled Benjamin's while he was still in a room at 55 degrees Celsius.

"This sad man was standing right next to us in the casitas when Lisa Marie Presley asked him to examine her dead son's body. "This moment ranks among the top five of my incredibly bizarre life," Keough stated.
