London Mosque burglaries: police name suspect

One of the eight mosques in Manor Park that suffered financial losses in a break-in occurred last year. The amounts taken are believed to represent a sizable windfall. Now, police have made public the information about a man they would like to talk with over twelve charges, including the burglaries of mosques and procedural infractions like failing to appear in court and violating bail.

Anthony Chieke, also known as Abraham Jakoboits, is his real name. The most defining characteristic of Chieke is his height of 6 feet 8 inches. He has a stubbled face and a shaven head. He is 55 years old. Chieke was last observed in May in Mitcham, a neighborhood in south London. Mosques and their congregations are encouraged to exercise extra caution since he could be anywhere at any time and may have a history of breaking into mosques. Please report any information that could aid in the police finding Chieke, whether it be his current or recent whereabouts, to the police via the 101 number or online. Kindly mention 3239/05OCT24 in your reference. Alternatively, you can anonymously provide information by calling Crimestoppers at 0800-555 111.
