Meghan Markle surprised fans this week by announcing the launch of her newly rebranded lifestyle business, As Ever, set to debut this spring.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared the news through an Instagram video introducing her brand, along with unveiling its official website and logo.
While no products are currently available for purchase, royal watchers quickly noticed a photo on the website featuring Meghan and her three-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, running hand-in-hand across a grassy field.
This inclusion caught many by surprise, as Meghan and Prince Harry have largely kept their personal lives private since stepping away from royal duties in 2020. The couple has rarely shared images of their two children and has deliberately avoided showing their faces in photos, reportedly for security reasons.
However, royal expert Duncan Larcombe believes Meghan’s choice to feature Lilibet’s image in her business branding may be a cause for concern for Prince Harry.
Speaking to OK!, Larcombe said, "Given Harry's views on publicity, fans were likely surprised to see Lilibet again so soon. If Harry could have it his way, his children would never be recognized or seen as public figures, as he has struggled with media attention his entire life."
He added, "But Meghan is building a brand, and that doesn't fully align with living a private life. This could eventually raise alarm bells for Harry. While she’s only sharing glimpses of their children, once that door is open, it may be difficult to close."
Since moving to Montecito five years ago, Harry has been intent on maintaining a life away from public scrutiny—something he believed was unattainable in the UK due to his royal status.
His reluctance to share images of their children stems from security concerns, as a close friend previously told People: "Harry isn’t keeping his children out of sight to hide them but to ensure their privacy and safety. He wants them to have a normal life, free from threats or fear."
