BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, accompanied by his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, offered Eid prayers at an open ground in London at 10:00 AM local time today. However, the leader was seen taking the microphone and expressing his annoyance at the disruptive behavior of party activists, who were eager to take selfies and photos with him. He appealed to them to maintain order.
Sources indicate that a major reason there were no organized Eid greetings events with party members during the last Eid al-Fitr, despite both Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman being in London, was the difficulty in controlling crowds. No such arrangements were made this time either.
BNP's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, participated in the Eid congregation at the Kingsmeadow Stadium in the Kingston area, near his home. Besides Tarique Rahman's wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, Arafat Rahman Koko's wife, Syeda Sharmila Rahman, was also present.
