Body of Teen Recovered from Sutton Coldfield Lake

  • Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and they are working with the coroner.

The body of a teenage boy has been found in a lake following an extensive search operation.

West Midlands Police said the teenager was reported missing at Powell’s Pool in Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, shortly after 6pm on Thursday.

In a statement, the force said: “We are supporting the boy’s family during this heartbreaking time.

“All emergency services carried out a major response after the boy was reported missing in the water. Specialist teams from the fire and rescue service, ambulance service, and Birmingham City Council were involved in the operation.

“Tragically, the search ended with the recovery of the boy’s body. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.”

Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and they are working with the coroner.
