The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, with veteran skipper Nigar Sultana Joty set to lead the team in their second appearance at the global event. The tournament is scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2.

The squad selection highlights a blend of experienced players and promising young talent, with three notable inclusions earning their maiden ODI World Cup call-ups. Wicketkeeper-batter Rubya Haider Jhelik, off-spinner Nishita Akter Nishi, and top-order batter Sumaiya Akter have been named in the final roster, replacing Dilara Akter Dola, Jannatul Ferdous Sumona, and Ishma Tanjim.

Rubya, who has previously represented Bangladesh in the T20 format but is yet to make her ODI debut, has been rewarded for her consistent development. BCB Women's Wing Chief Selector Sazzad Ahmed Mansur praised her progress, stating, "Her development over the last six months has been outstanding. We see her as a valuable option both as a reserve keeper and a backup opener."

The squad also features two promising teenagers from the Bangladesh U19 Women's T20 World Cup team. Nishita Akter Nishi, at just 17, is the youngest member of the squad. She made her international debut in 2023 and is noted for her maturity and ability to contain left-handers. Sumaiya Akter, who captained the U19 side, has also earned a place after strong domestic and Emerging Team performances.

Bangladesh qualified for the World Cup after a strong performance in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier earlier this year. The team will play two warm-up matches in Colombo before starting their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 2.
