Actor Rizwan Khan, known for his roles in popular TV shows like Hollyoaks and Vera, has been found guilty on multiple charges, including the rape of two women. The verdict was delivered by a jury at Teesside Crown Court, concluding a trial that shed light on a series of disturbing incidents.
Khan, aged 40, was convicted of raping his first victim following a violent physical assault. In a separate incident, he was found guilty of raping a second woman, who testified that she awoke to find him performing a sex act on her after she had fallen asleep. In addition to the rape charges, Khan was also convicted of sexually assaulting one of the women and slapping a child in a separate event.
During the trial, prosecutor Robin Turton detailed the harrowing experiences of the victims. One woman told the court that Khan had said to her, "I need what I need. I want what I want. You, as a woman, should abide by what a man wants." She claimed he became violent after she refused his demands for sex, allegedly striking her in the face, punching her, and strangling her before she eventually gave in out of fear.
The second victim recounted her experience, stating she had turned him down because she was tired and had to work the next day. Despite her refusal, Khan proceeded to rape her.
Judge Paul Reid has granted Khan conditional bail, allowing him to spend the night at his home before his sentencing on October 14.
The actor, a father of one, worked at a call center for a financial firm in Storksley before his acting career began six years ago. His acting credits include guest appearances on Holby City and This England, as well as a role in the 2021 film Everybody's Talking Ab
