This afternoon, Alejandro Baena successfully underwent surgery for appendicitis.

The Atlético de Madrid midfielder had been feeling unwell during the day and required medical intervention. The club confirmed the news in an official statement:

“Álex Baena underwent successful laparoscopic surgery on Tuesday, September 2, to treat acute appendicitis. The operation went smoothly, and the player is in good condition.
