In a profound wave of sorrow, UK Bangla Press Club's Vice President and NTV Europe's News Editor, journalist Abdur Rashid, has been left bereft by the passing of his beloved father, Abdul Latif. At the age of 82, Mr. Latif, a respected elder from Sonampur in Golapganj, Sylhet, and a more recent resident of London, breathed his last at the Royal London Hospital on the evening of September 22nd, at 6:55 PM, following a devastating brain stroke. "Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un" (Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return).

The heart of a family, a pillar of strength, has been tragically lost. Abdul Latif leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance, survived by his two sons, six daughters, and countless admirers who were touched by his kindness and wisdom. For Abdur Rashid, this is not merely a public news report but a deeply personal tragedy. The man who guided his first steps and instilled in him the values that shaped his remarkable journalistic career has departed.

In a voice heavy with grief, the family has appealed to all for prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul. The loss is immeasurable, leaving a void that can never be filled. As the family navigates this unbearable pain, they are coordinating with the hospital authorities to complete all necessary procedures before the final journey of their patriarch back to his homeland in Bangladesh. The time for the Janazah (funeral) prayer in Bangladesh will be announced at a later, more appropriate time.

In a collective expression of condolences, the UK Bangla Press Club has extended its deepest sympathies. In a joint statement, President Reza Ahmed Faisal Chowdhury Shoyeb, General Secretary Arif Al Mahfuz, and Treasurer Mahbubul Karim Sued offered their heartfelt prayers for the eternal rest of the deceased. They also expressed their hope that the grieving family finds the strength to overcome this immense sorrow, asking for everyone's thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

This is a day of profound loss, not just for Abdur Rashid and his family, but for the wider community that knew and respected Abdul Latif. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
