Police investigate a stabbing in Dagenham after suspected firearms were found at a nearby property.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after being stabbed on Rusper Road in Dagenham, East London, with police later recovering a number of suspected firearms from a nearby property.

The incident happened at about 10.42am on Thursday, 10 September 2026, when officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to Rusper Road following reports of a stabbing. The injured man was found with wounds to his arm and was taken to hospital by paramedics.

His injuries were assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

As officers continued their investigation, police attended an address on nearby Clementhorpe Road, where they carried out a search and recovered what the Metropolitan Police described as “a number of suspected firearms”.

Eight men and two women, aged between 30 and 60, were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences. All 10 remained in police custody as enquiries continued.

The Metropolitan Police said officers responded to the report of a stabbing shortly after 10.40am on Thursday.

When police arrived at Rusper Road, they found the injured man. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to his arm.

The force confirmed that medical assessments found the injuries were not life-threatening and were not expected to cause life-changing consequences.

The investigation then developed beyond the immediate scene of the stabbing, leading officers to an address on Clementhorpe Road.

During a search of the Clementhorpe Road property, officers recovered several items suspected to be firearms.

The discovery resulted in 10 arrests on suspicion of firearms offences. Those arrested comprised eight men and two women between the ages of 30 and 60.

Police have not stated that the suspected firearms were used in the stabbing, and no direct connection between the weapons and the attack has been established in the information released so far.

The distinction is significant because the firearms discovery forms part of the wider police investigation, while the circumstances surrounding the stabbing itself remain under investigation.

The Metropolitan Police has not disclosed the identity of the injured man or provided further details about the circumstances leading to the attack.

Officers are continuing enquiries to establish what happened on Rusper Road and whether the events there are connected to the subsequent discovery at the Clementhorpe Road address.

The 10 people arrested remain in police custody while detectives investigate the suspected firearms offences.

Daily Dazzling Dawn understands that the investigation remains at an early stage, and further information may be released by the Metropolitan Police as officers establish the circumstances surrounding both the stabbing and the suspected firearms recovery.

Anyone with information relevant to the investigation should contact the Metropolitan Police.
