A 24-year-old man remains in critical condition in hospital after being found with gunshot wounds directly outside Wembley Police Station during the early hours of Saturday, 3 October. Metropolitan Police officers were alerted to reports of gunfire discharging along residential Douglas Avenue in Brent, north-west London, at approximately 3:45am. Minutes later, the critically wounded casualty was discovered outside the station entrance, where attending constables performed immediate trauma first aid before London Ambulance Service paramedics transferred him to a specialist major trauma centre. Scotland Yard has confirmed that no suspects have been detained and an urgent manhunt is underway across the borough.

The incident developed rapidly after residents on Douglas Avenue raised the alarm regarding live ammunition being fired in the street. While specialist firearms teams were deployed to the initial scene, officers stationed at Wembley Police Station on Harrow Road discovered the injured man collapsed outside. Uniformed officers administered immediate emergency first aid to stem severe blood loss before paramedic crews arrived and took over clinical care.

Daily Dazzling Dawn understands that medical teams have placed the man in intensive care, where his condition continues to be assessed as life-threatening. Specialist collision and forensic investigators sealed off sections of Douglas Avenue, erecting formal cordons around a vehicle that sustained multiple visible bullet impacts along its bodywork.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation into the sequence of events connecting the gunfire on Douglas Avenue to the victim’s arrival at the police station. Forensic teams spent Saturday documenting ballistic evidence, cataloguing shell casings, and examining the damaged car preserved within the cordon.

Detective Superintendent Tony Bellis confirmed the scope of the enquiry, stating that officers are actively working to establish whether the victim drove himself to the station for safety or was assisted by an associate who subsequently departed the scene. Daily Dazzling Dawn learned that investigators are auditing borough CCTV networks, private dashcam footage, and automated number plate recognition cameras along Harrow Road, Wembley High Road, and adjacent residential corridors to track vehicle movements between 3:30am and 4:30am.

The violence has prompted significant concern among residents in Brent. In response, local policing commanders have authorised heightened high-visibility reassurance patrols across Wembley, Tokyngton, and surrounding neighbourhoods over the coming days.

Superintendent Bellis emphasised the gravity of the incident and appealed directly to members of the public who were travelling through the area or who hold recorded camera footage. Anyone with information, or who witnessed suspicious activity in the vicinity of Douglas Avenue or Wembley Police Station around the time of the shooting, is urged to call police on 101 quoting reference 1115/03OCT. Anonymous intelligence can also be submitted to the independent charity Crimestoppers.
