  • Buckinghamshire drill musician Wasim Zaman has been jailed for three years after police discovered cocaine, cannabis, £19,000 in cash, and self-incriminating rap lyrics at his residence.

A thirty-one-year-old High Wycombe musician whose handwritten rap verses detailed his street trade and past prison sentences has been jailed for three years after police uncovered a lucrative Class A and Class B narcotics enterprise. Wasim Zaman, an aspiring local rapper residing on Rutland Avenue, entered guilty pleas at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday, 5 October, to possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession with intent to supply cannabis. The conviction follows an intelligence-led operation by Thames Valley Police that uncovered thousands of pounds worth of illegal substances, significant cash reserves, and written musical material detailing illicit street dealings that directly undermined his defence.

The enforcement action took place on the afternoon of 12 June when dedicated entry teams executed a warrant under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Officers attached to the High Wycombe Proactive and Neighbourhood Policing teams gained entry to the Rutland Avenue residence at approximately 3:20 pm. Zaman was detained inside the property as specialist officers initiated a systematic search of every room, targeting evidence linked to suspected regional narcotics trafficking.

The search yielded 172 grams of cocaine carrying an estimated street value of £11,750, alongside an additional quantity of the Class A substance located directly in Zaman's clothing. Officers also found a substantial cache of cannabis prepped for sale, £19,495 in bundled cash concealed across the address, an extra £336 in cash in Zaman's pockets, and multiple mobile phones. Digital forensics confirmed that at least one of the seized handsets had functioned as a dedicated operational line to coordinate drug transactions throughout Buckinghamshire.

Among the key physical materials secured by detectives were personal lyric sheets written by Zaman as part of his musical projects. The recovered verses directly referenced his active role in street distribution, financial gains from the drug trade, and prior terms served inside custodial institutions. Far from being harmless creative expression, the detailed rhymes closely matched the digital messages, transaction patterns, and physical evidence recovered by detectives at the address. Confronted with the alignment between his personal lyrics and the physical contraband, Zaman admitted full responsibility in court.

Following his immediate arrest on 12 June and formal charges the next day, Zaman was remanded until his court appearance. At Aylesbury Crown Court, the presiding judge handed down a three-year custodial sentence and made an order for the total forfeiture and destruction of all seized drugs, paraphernalia, and packaging equipment, with the cash confiscated under proceeds of crime legislation. In remarks released to journalists, investigating officer PC Pete Robinson of the Buckinghamshire Proactive Team stated that Zaman had played an active part in circulating damaging drugs that foster crime and exploitation. Robinson confirmed that officers will maintain pressure on local supply lines to keep illegal substances off High Wycombe streets, with Daily Dazzling Dawn understanding that proactive neighbourhood enforcement operations across Buckinghamshire remain ongoing.
