A Manchester-born teacher is fighting for her life in a Dubai hospital after her baby boy died at 30 weeks of pregnancy, with medical bills now exceeding £100,000 and her family appealing for help. Zoey Campbell-Lowndes remains in a critical condition, having been placed in an induced coma as doctors treat multiple organ failure. Daily Dazzling Dawn understands the family's birth plan insurance does not cover the mother's emergency care, leaving them to meet the spiralling costs of treatment in the United Arab Emirates.

The tragedy unfolded when Ms Campbell-Lowndes and her partner Kevin were told their unborn son had passed away at 30 weeks. She subsequently underwent a Caesarean section to deliver the baby. Following the procedure, her family say her health deteriorated significantly, and she was transferred to intensive care.

According to the family, Ms Campbell-Lowndes has spent three days in intensive care and is currently in an induced coma as doctors work to treat her failing liver and kidneys. She has suffered two episodes of internal bleeding, required blood transfusions and is undergoing dialysis. Her condition remains extremely serious.

Daily Dazzling Dawn learned that the family has described an overwhelming financial burden, with surgeries and ongoing care already surpassing £100,000 in costs. More than 1,500 people have contributed to a fundraising appeal, raising almost £80,000 to support the medical bills.

The family said in a statement: "We never imagined finding ourselves in this position. Our family is grieving the loss of a precious little boy while desperately hoping and praying that Zoey will pull through."

They added: "Having to worry about the cost of medical treatment on top of such an unimaginable loss is something no family should ever have to face."

Daily Dazzling Dawn understands that Ms Campbell-Lowndes' birth plan insurance covers the baby but not medical emergencies involving the mother, leaving the family exposed to the full cost of her critical care in Dubai. The fundraising page states that the family is holding on to hope for her recovery and wants to give her every possible chance to return home to the people who love her.

"Having to worry about the cost of medical treatment on top of such an unimaginable loss is something no family should ever have to face," the family said, adding that they never imagined they would have to ask for help in this way.

The appeal has drawn a strong response, with more than 1,500 donors contributing almost £80,000 towards the escalating medical bills, which have already passed £100,000. The family says the treatments are desperately needed as Ms Campbell-Lowndes continues her fight in intensive care.

Daily Dazzling Dawn understands that the family is now focusing on her recovery while mourning the loss of their baby boy. Anyone wishing to support the family can do so through the fundraising page set up to help meet the cost of her care.
