British-Bangladeshi's describe Sunday's Eid festivities as ‘heavy’ due to the Gaza

British Muslims have described how this year’s festivities have been particularly “heavy” due to the devastation in Gaza, which has led to the killing of more than 33,000 people and displacement of 1.9 million, according to the UN. Every year, thousands of Bangladeshi families do quebani in London as well as in the country. Qorbani orders are being taken in Bengali, Pakistani, and Afghan grocery and halal meat shops. Md. Akhter Hussain, the owner of Insaf Halal in East London's Green Stitt area, said that the crowds in London's spice shops are increasing ahead of Eid.
