7 illegal Bangladeshi migrants held in Surat

Surat police arrested seven illegal Bangladeshi migrants, including three women, on Wednesday. They allegedly worked at various spas in the city and engaged in prostitution. Based on a specific input, personnel of Surat Crime Prevention Branch along with officials of Special Police Group arrested seven illegal migrants from Udhna area of ​​the city. Police said the migrants had obtained fake documents and had been residing in Surat for two years. They added that the main agent helping Bangladeshis find jobs in Surat was among the seven arrested. He charged a commission from each person of Rs 90,000. Police Inspector R S Suvera said, “Those arrested hail from different districts of Bangladesh. The agent knew the poor financial condition of these illegal migrants and convinced their families to send them to Surat to earn a living. These illegal immigrants were brought to Surat by train from Kolkata. One more accused is absconding and a search is on to nab him.” Documents such as fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, photocopies of Bangladeshi passports, Bangladesh National Identity Cards, and birth certificates, among others, have been seized from the accused. All the accused were charged under sections 465 (forgery), 467 (forgery of securities, wills), 468 (forgery for fraudulent purposes) and 471 (using as false documents or records electronic sounds) of the Indian Penal Code.
