Apps developers are coming out with new features or information about their growing streaming capabilities on a regular basis. Now, the company is supporting workplace ID cards, making Google Wallet one of the best digital wallet apps you can trust.

Google Wallet allows you to store a variety of physical documents without having to carry them on plastic cards or printed sheets of paper. The app already supports government-issued IDs, such as multi-state driver's licenses, vaccination cards, event tickets, and airline boarding passes. Most recently, the company expanded support for government ID cards to new states such as Arizona, Colorado, and Georgia, while also providing new features to all users, such as a convenient payment system One touch for commuters and support card sharing. Wallet also lets you scan any unsupported documents and cards, like library cards and gym memberships, which are often non-standard in terms of design. We can attribute this recent spate of additions to the promises Google made in early June this year. It's been a few months since then, but the company is finally giving Wallet users the option to add their employee ID cards to the app. Unless your workplace has strict rules about displaying IDs at work, a digital ID in Google Wallet can finally help say goodbye to that outdated lanyard. In a silent support document update, Google confirmed that this change will reach Wallet users via a Play Services update to version 23.44. Multinational companies take privacy and data security very seriously, even recording when their employees access certain facilities or areas of the office. These cards usually rely on magnetic stripes, RFID, barcodes, proximity sensors, or some combination of the above. Most of these cards can be easily scanned so that your phone becomes the only thing you need to carry with you to and from the coffee shop. Google didn't specify a rollout schedule, but we should start seeing digital workplace IDs soon. Meanwhile, the same Play Services update will also enable Wallet notifications for IDs that still require verification. This will make it easier to configure digital IDs for reliable use in the future.
