Bangladesh's 12th National Parliament election will be held on January 7, 2024. Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal announced the date of the election in his address to the nation on the occasion of announcing the schedule. The Election Commissioner addressed the nation on Wednesday (November 15) at 7 pm. There he announced the schedule of the 12th parliamentary elections. The speech was broadcast live on Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Radio. In his speech, the Election Commission urged all political parties to participate in the elections. At this time, he made a firm promise to conduct free, fair, impartial and participatory elections in light of the constitution and laws. The deadline for nomination submission is Nov 30 while the final date to withdraw candidacy is Dec 17. The commission will scrutinise the nomination papers from Dec 1 to Dec 4.
