Fahima Chowdhury Moni wants to wants AL nomination for reserved seat

Prominent women leader Fahima Chowdhury Moni, daughter-in-law of late Dewan Farid Gazi, one of the founders of Awami League in Greater Sylhet, wants Awami League's nomination for Habiganj - Moulvibazar reserved women's seat. She is the younger brother's wife of former MP Milad Gazi of Habiganj-1 (Nabigonj-Bahubal ) constituency. According to family sources, Fahima Chowdhury Moni was born in a bonafide family in Bhuigao village of Hajipur union under Kulaura upazila at Moulvibazar district. Father Abdur Rakib Chowdhury was a famous person in the area. Fahima Chowdhury Moni, the youngest of 5 siblings, obtained her MSc degree in Botany in 1995 from MC College, Sylhet's top educational institution. In 1996, she got married to Gazi Ashfaq Nahed, son of former MP and minister Dewan Farid Gazi, one of the top organizers of Awami League in Sylhet division. After marriage, he lived in Dhaka for family reasons but was active in various social activities and politics in Habiganj and Moulvibazar. Fahima Chowdhury Moni said, inspired by the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he was involved in Chhatra League politics from his school days in Sylhet. After marriage,she has regularly participated in political programs under the inspiration of Bangabandhu's close companion, former minister of Sylhet, Dewan Farid Ghazi,. He is currently a member of the International Affairs Sub-Committee of Bangladesh Awami League. In addition to teaching in a famous school in Dhaka, he is the elected joint general secretary of Jalalabad Association, the largest organization of Sylhet residents in the capital Dhaka. Besides, he is involved in the activities of various social and service organizations, including the General Secretary of Sylhet Divisional Employment Council. Fahima Chowdhury Moni said, I came into politics inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu. We are confident in the leadership of Awami League and people's leader Sheikh Hasina through family and generations. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to work for the women of Habiganj Moulvibazar in building 'Smart Bangladesh' to build Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bangla.
