Spain will recognize Palestine as an independent state within the next three months

April 04, 2024
The European country Spain is going to recognize Palestine as an independent state by next July. This information was reported by the country's media citing Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. This was reported by the international news agency Reuters on Tuesday (April 2). According to the Spanish state news agency EFE, the Spanish Prime Minister, who is visiting the Middle East, announced the deadline for recognizing Palestine in a meeting in Amman, Jordan. He said, the process has already started. Sanchez will also visit Qatar and Saudi Arabia on this trip. Earlier, on March 22, four European countries, Spain, Ireland, Slovenia and Malta, said that their countries are ready to recognize the Palestinian state. They say this is the only way to ensure peace and security in the war-torn region. It should be noted that during the meeting of the leaders of Arab countries with the European Union in Spain last year, both sides agreed that the Palestinian-Israeli two-state solution is the only way to deal with the ongoing crisis.
