On Monday, thousands of demonstrators in Bangladesh, supported by the student branch of the ruling party, marched through campuses across the nation to call for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and an end to the conflict between Hamas and Israel.
Bangladesh Chhatra League activists carried Palestinian and Bangladeshi flags, held banners that read "Free Palestine, Stop Genocide," and marched through the esteemed Dhaka University campus while screaming anti-Israeli phrases. Protest organisers reported that a large number of other students participated.
