Despite the huge difference in experience and strength, USA gave Pakistan a scare in the first innings. Fighting till the last ball, the new team of the World Cup took the match to the super over.

Both teams stopped at 159 runs in fixed overs today in the T20 World Cup 'A' group match. Then Pakistan captain Babar Azam handed over the ball to experienced pacer Mohammad Amir in the super over.

But the decision boomeranged for Pakistan. Aaron Jones of the United States put Amir under pressure with the bat.

The USA batters took 18 runs in that over after hitting a boundary on the first ball. Out of this 7 runs come extra. 

After spending so many runs, Pakistan went on the backfoot. Then they sent Iftikhar Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman to bat.  Iftikhar could not get any runs off the first ball of American pacer Netravalkar.  Boundary on the second ball, out on the third ball! 7 runs came in the next two balls. As a result, the goal of the last ball was 7 runs! But Pakistan could take only 1 run.

In total, Pakistan could take only 13 runs in the Super Over. And that is how the United States made history. They lost the former champions in the debut match. The team is again a Test played team and one of the favorites for the World Cup! On the other hand, this loss will be an upset for Pakistan.

The United States looked different from the start today at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. After winning the toss, they sent Pakistan into bat to play the first match of the tournament. US bowlers put Pakistan under pressure from the start. Although the difference in strength between the two teams is huge, the host bowlers revealed Pakistan's batting weakness in the field game. Only Pakistan captain Babar Azam and middle order batsman Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi can score runs.

Pakistan suffered a shock in the second over of the innings. Opener Mohammad Rizwan returned with a personal 9 runs. In the next over, Usman Khan (3) fell for three and Fakhar Zaman (11) in the fifth over, Pakistan started to lose their wickets. After losing 3 wickets for 26 runs, Shadab and Babar started fighting to turn around. At one end, Babar is biting the ground. At the other end, Shadab played with a little open hand. They both added 72 runs.  

Shadab was keeping the team's run wheels moving by relatively aggressive batting. Babar was playing ODI style. But Shadab returned before the team's hundred, scoring 40 runs off 25 balls. 3 sixes and 1 four came from his bat. After coming to the crease, Azam Khan was trapped leg before by US orthodox bowler Nastush Pradeep Kenzig on the first ball.

Babar could not play more due to the pressure of falling wickets one after another.  He was lbw to Jasdeep Singh when the team was 126 runs.  His innings of 44 off 43 balls was studded with 3 fours and 2 sixes.  Babar has set a record on the way to playing this innings.  He is now the owner of the most runs (4067) in international T20 cricket.  India's Virat Kohli (4038) is second and India's captain Rohit Sharma (4026) is the third place in the record.

In the end, Iftikhar Ahmed's 18 runs from 14 balls and Shaheen Shah Afridi's unbeaten 23 runs from 16 balls saved Pakistan's dignity.

With the ball in hand, Kenzige of USA took 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. Sourav Netravalkar got 2 wickets with 18 runs in 4 overs. Besides, Ali Khan and Jasdeep each took 1 wicket.

160 runs is not a big target, but considering Pakistan's strong bowling line-up, it should be difficult for USA. But it didn't happen. The two openers Steven Taylor and Monak Patel got off to a good start with 36 runs in the first 5 overs.  Taylor (12) was dismissed by Pakistan's Naseem Shah on the first ball of the sixth over.  

After that, American captains Monanque and Andries Gause took the lead. Both of them made a partnership of almost 70 runs. This pair almost knocked Pakistan out of the match. However, Haris Rauf brought Pakistan back into the match by dismissing Gauss in the first ball of the 14th over. He scored 35 runs off 26 balls. Meanwhile, Monak picked up his third fifty in T20.

The United States struck again on the first ball of the next over.  Monak departs after fifty. His 38-ball innings of 7 fours and 1 six was stopped by Mohammad Amir. But then Aaron Jones, the hero of the previous match, came to the crease. This batsman who created a storm against Canada was the team's trust in this match as well. Jones was also playing with responsibility.  However, the match turned around in the 17th and 18th overs. While Nasim Shah and Shaheen Shah gave only 13 runs.  

After not being able to score enough runs in two consecutive overs, the target of 21 runs in the last two overs stood in front of the USA. Pacer Amir, who came back from retirement, gave only 6 runs in the 19th over. As a result, the hosts needed 15 runs in the last over.  Only 3 runs came from the first three balls of that over by Harris. But off the fourth ball, Jones hit a massive six. As a result, the target was 6 runs in the last two balls. After taking a single on the fifth ball, Nitish Kumar hit a four on the last ball! Score levels! 

As a result, the match went to super over. In addition to making history by winning, the United States won their first two matches in this tournament. Earlier they won the first match against Canada by chasing big runs.
