Councilor Sabina Akhtar, former Speaker of Tower Hamlets Council in London, has embarked on a last-minute campaign to win over her ex-councillor husband as a Member of Parliament.

Her husband, Ehtashamul Haque, is contesting as an independent candidate in next Thursday's election from Poplar and Limehouse, a predominantly Bangladeshi constituency in London.

On June 24, Councilor Sabina resigned from the party after being unsolicitedly mentioned as the name of Bangladesh by Labor Leader Keir Starmer. In Britain, there are about a hundred elected councilors from the Labor Party on various councils.

But only Sabina showed the courage to resign over Sturmer's comments. So far, Sabina could not go to the field against the party candidate from the party position, but after resigning from the party, there was no obstacle in front of Sabina to go to the field for her husband.

Kulaurian daughter, Sabina, was elected the first woman Speaker of Tower Hamlets Council.

In this matter, Ehtasham said, "My wife has resigned from the Labor Party because of the controversial comments of the Labor Party leader about Bangladeshis." If he left the party for my election campaign, she would have left long ago.

It should be noted that the current MP for this seat, Apsana Begum, is the ex-wife of Ehtasham. Apsana is contesting as a Labor Party candidate in the upcoming elections. Apart from these two, six candidates from six other parties are contesting this seat.
