On their way to celebrate her breast cancer victory, a woman and her five-year-old son sadly lost their lives in an automobile accident.
A catastrophe struck while Beatriz Aparecida Frederico, 33, and David Miguel Frederico de Oliveira, her youngest kid, were traveling to a theme park. On Sunday, July 7, in Lages, Brazil, amid a downpour, another car struck theirs. Beatriz sat in the backseat of the car, her oldest son Diogo, 16, and her 36-year-old husband Deivid in the front.
They had headed to the theme park to celebrate Beatriz's diagnosis after she finished up her final radiation treatment on June 11. A heart-breaking social media post has since confirmed the deaths.
Deivid and Diogo were taken to a nearby hospital and underwent surgery. Tributes have since poured in for Beatriz and David, while urgent requests have been made for rare blood donations as the surviving members of the car crash have rare blood types. Those blood types are in low supply at the hospital the pair are currently staying.
An appeal from the barber shop Deivid works at reads: "It is with great sadness and pain in our hearts that we announce the death of Deivid's wife, Beatriz Frederico, and his youngest son, Davi. We also inform you of the real health condition of Deivid and his oldest son, Diogo.
"Both are hospitalized at the Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres Hospital and underwent surgery. According to medical information, they are fine and are not in danger of dying! With faith, we ask that you join in prayer for Deivid and his son Diogo and that you send strength to the entire grieving family."
The statement added: "We deeply regret this fatality and count on everyone's support and prayers. We maintain our faith in God!" The driver in the other car, a 31-year-old policeman, and his 61-year-old mother, were both taken to hospital with injuries. Their current condition is unknown and the fatal accident is being investigated.
