After the independence of Bangladesh, the expatriates of Bangladesh have never spent such a long night of worry and anxiety.Many of the expatriates are trying to connect with their relatives in the country by buying new SIM cards.As the internet is down, various kinds of rumours are spreading.Expatriates do not even get a chance to know which is a rumour and which is true.


The Resistance hacker group has acquired the websites of Bangladesh Bank, the Prime Minister's Office, and the Rapid Action Battalion.The group said it was in solidarity with the ongoing student movement and hacked the websites as a protest.They said their campaign would continue.Earlier, the group hacked the Bangladesh Police and Chhatra League websites, according them.


 


According to a report by the Daily Independent on Friday morning, Internet and mobile services were cut off in Bangladesh on Friday following days of violent protests over the allocation of government jobs, with local media reports saying at least 28 people had been killed this week.


The internet clampdown came after violence escalated on Thursday as students attempted to impose a “complete shutdown" on the country.


 


Reports of deaths rose, and protesters attacked the head office of state-run Bangladesh Television, breaking through a main gate and setting vehicles and the reception area on fire, a news producer and a reporter told The Associated Press by phone. They spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.


 


At least 22 people were killed on Thursday, a local TV station reported, following six deaths earlier this week. Authorities could not be reached to immediately confirm the figures for the deaths.


 Rocket and other banking services closed. Mobile recharge is not possible. No communication medium can be used. Satellite television connections have been stopped in various places. Fresh violence has reportedly flared up in Dhaka's Mohammadpur and Badda. Police have used tear gas. The Students Against Discrimination, the group behind the protests, have asked people to pray for the departed souls today. 


On Friday morning, internet services and mobile data appeared to be down in the capital, Dhaka, and social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp were not loading.
