"Will kick out every single Bangladeshi from Northeast and Tripura"

In a strong statement, TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma said that if provocations against India continue, he intends to banish all Bangladeshis from Tripura and the Northeast as a whole. Debbarma said this in response to a tweet from user @talibulilmr, who claimed that West Bengal and the Seven Sister states are a part of Bangladesh and threatened India with dire repercussions.

In response, Debbarma said that he will give the Youth Tipra Federation (YTF) and the Tipra Indigenous Students Federation (TISF) instructions to ascertain the current enrolment figures for Bangladeshi students in Tripura and the Northeast.

“Tipra Motha will kick out every single Bangladeshi from our region and state if these provocations continue from their end,” he posted.

The original tweet from @talibulilmr accused India of creating instability in Bangladesh and causing artificial floods that harmed the people, further claiming that the Seven Sisters and West Bengal belong to Bangladesh and will be made independent.

Four Bangladeshi nationals among six arrested in Meghalaya

Four Bangladeshi nationals were among six individuals detained in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills, officials reported on Friday.

Following a tip-off, vigilant BSF personnel apprehended the four Bangladeshis on Thursday night, along with two suspected touts who allegedly helped them cross into India without valid documents.

The Bangladeshis were identified as Bashir Ahmed, his wife, and two girls, one of whom is his daughter.

“They hail from Cox Bazaar in Bangladesh and were apprehended by a BSF patrolling team in Ratacherra while travelling in an auto-rickshaw along with two touts from Assam,” Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad told PTI.

According to the speaker, a case has been filed under many provisions of the BNS and Foreigners Act.

The Juvenile Justice Board will see the girls produced, he continued.

An investigation has been ordered, according to a BSF officer, to determine how they were able to sneak in.

According to him, Bangladeshis have made multiple efforts to enter India through the unfenced area of Meghalaya since turmoil struck their country.

He claimed the BSF has put its men on high alert around the border.
