Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Water Resources and Environment Adviser, stated today that China is committed to sharing its expertise in water management, developing a smart water conservation system, and improving data sharing during floods.
She mentioned that China has proposed providing training on water conservation and promoting technical cooperation between the two countries.
Rizwana shared these remarks during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, at the Bangladesh Secretariat. Their discussion centered on strengthening collaboration between the two nations in water management and environmental sustainability.
The Environment Adviser said to further strengthen ties, the formation of a Joint Committee and cooperation between Bangladeshi and Chinese water research institutions were recommended.
According to her, these initiatives would strengthen cooperation on infrastructure projects, flood protection, and river management that would benefit both nations.
In order to achieve long-term objectives for environmental protection and climate change resilience, she underlined the significance of international collaborations.
China is a great friend of Bangladesh, the Chinese envoy reiterated, and the two countries' relationship would only get stronger.
In addition to river pollution control, he indicated interest in working together on ecological management, solar energy, electric vehicles, capacity building, flood control systems, smart water management, and the exchange of hydrological data.
He noted that Bangladesh could enhance its prosperity by fully utilizing its rivers.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about deepening bilateral relations and exploring future cooperation in environmental sustainability and water resource management.
