Matia Chowdhury, a senior politician and a presidium member of the Awami League, passed away aged 82.
Mostafa Jamal Haider, her maternal uncle, said she passed away around 11 a.m. on Wednesday while receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
A well-known figure in Bangladeshi politics, Matia Chowdhury was renowned for his efforts in both public service and politics.
