According to reports, on his "first day in office," President-elect Donald Trump intends to sign an executive order prohibiting transgender personnel from serving in the military.

According to The Sunday Times, 15,000 active service personnel would be "medically discharged" under the contentious order, making them unfit to serve. 

According to the Times, Trump plans to sign the executive action on January 20, 2025, or Day 1 of his tenure, which would prohibit transgender individuals from joining the military as all branches still face recruitment challenges.
