Recently, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum shared a post on social media platform X about this initiative.

The project, titled "Dubai Walk," aims to create an interconnected network of pedestrian pathways spanning over 6,500 kilometers. It will include 110 pedestrian bridges and underpasses to facilitate safe crossings.

Under this initiative, 3,300 kilometers of new pedestrian roads will be constructed, and 2,300 kilometers of existing roads will be renovated.

According to officials, the project will be implemented in three phases, with the pilot phase set to be completed by 2027.

To encourage walking among residents, the Dubai government plans to launch a smart application. Through this app, residents can earn rewards by walking and access information about various routes.
