In a furious tirade, GB News host Patrick Christys claimed that Keir Starmer and the Labour party have "gone to war" with farmers, but that it is a "war they'll lose" over how they are governing the nation.

"They decided to bite the hand that feeds Britain," the host of the contentious news channel stated. The fact that this hand strikes back is their main issue.

Reminding viewers that the Prime Minister had earlier pledged not to raise taxes for working people, he stated that he was present at the farmers' protest. Patrick went on: "Well he has decided to tax the hardest working people in Britain, hasn't he?"

After showing a clip of a young, 18-year-old farmer explaining that he often works 12 hour days, the presenter said: "But it goes deeper than that, this is an assault on the British countryside and the rural way of life. Once it's gone we will never get it back."

Another short clip was shown, this time of the president of the National Farmers Union, Tom Bradshaw, becoming emotional in parliament as he spoke about the impact that the tax changes are having on farmers.

Patrick described it as a "needless farmer death tax". In a scathing review of the government's plans, the host hit out saying: "Labour hopes it will raise around £500m from this tax raid...and they're giving away more than £500m in foreign aid to foreign farmers.

"This is the kind of economics that could only be drawn up by someone who allegedly lied on her CV to become Chancellor!

"If the farmers do decide to strike, Britain will back the farmers over Keir Starmer."

Fans on social media agreed with the GB News star. Taking to X/Twitter, one wrote: "I would say it's part of a much bigger pattern with British people constantly at the bottom of the pile.

"I can't understand how all our recent governments always act against our interests at every turn. It's like reparations are happening on the sly."

"Farmers should strike, they'd bring this crackpot government down within 2 months," another said. While a third added: "Farmers should go on strike immediately and stop supplying the cities. Just operate from farm shops and only feed the locals. Hit the labour city dweller lovies and bring the government down."
