This week, York's River Ouse overflowed its banks, engulfing businesses in floodwater.
Levels remained high after recent heavy rainfall, prompting the issuance of a flood alert for properties along the river.
The River Ouse level at Viking Recorder was 3.76 meters as of 8:30 am on Friday, January 3. When it rises above 3 meters, property flooding may occur.
It was recommended that residents avoid walking, riding, or driving through flood water and turn on any property flood protection measures they may have.
