Tulip can't even get her mother; even friends either

Tulip Siddiq is facing the worst period of her political career. For the past month, the British media has been publishing daily news stories about allegations of corruption against herself, her aunt Sheikh Hasina, and Tulip's mother Sheikh Rehana. In such a situation, no British Bangladeshi politician has faced this in Britain before. Initially, allegations of pro-Russian links were raised against Tulip, and the anti-Russian British media seized on the Tulip issue. Tulip sympathizers and Awami League activists claim that the British media has conducted a media trial on Tulip as a non-white politician compared to white politicians.

Many families of BNP and Jamaat supporters in Bangladesh, who have been in the target of Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League government, have had to leave Bangladesh and come to Britain and Europe in the last sixteen years. The family members of many top Jamaat leaders convicted in war crimes cases in Bangladesh have been held in Britain for a long time. Some of their fathers were sentenced to death by Sheikh Hasina's government. Many were unable to return to Bangladesh even to see the bodies of their parents after their deaths. Hundreds of dismissed military and civil servants and businessmen who had lost their businesses were in Britain and Europe at the hands of Sheikh Hasina and her cronies. After the Tulip Issue started in the British media, Tulip became the target of their collective anger. They kept sending all kinds of small and big complaints to journalists of various British media. As usual, a call is made to write a draft of the accusation against Tulip on social media using AI or by writing your own words through various posts. Numerous accusations are also sent to the email and social sites of Dally Dazzling Dawn in the name of Tulip. Even many old pictures where Tulip is present are also sent.

When Tulip contested and won the councilor's post in 2010, she started her journey almost alone. Tulip was elected as an MP for the first time in 2015. She is a four-time MP. Many leaders of the UK Awami League campaigned on Tulip's behalf in the parliamentary elections. Through this, they got the opportunity to come close to Sheikh Rehana and Sheikh Hasina's families. A large number of opportunists became involved with Tulip, becoming her maternal uncle. They became influential within the Awami League and in Bangladesh as well. They influenced the close associates of Sheikh Rehana. Although some of them were not direct members of the Awami League, many social workers and journalists in the Bangladeshi community used to introduce Tulip and Sheikh Rehana as close associates. They used to post pictures with Tulip and Sheikh Rehana on social media. After Tulip got involved in the controversy, those with whom Tulip has made four elections, those who accompanied Tulip on her trip to Bangladesh starting from Tulip's wedding, are removing pictures with Tulip from their Facebook pages. They deny their relationship with Tulip. Apart from Awami League leaders and activists, many Bangladeshi-origin councilors in the UK, the Lord Mayor's Facebook, X, and other social handles were covered with pictures with Tulip. However, no notable community leader was seen posting a single post on social media in Tulip's difficult time.

Tulip is not able to get her mother- Sheikh Rehana, to be with Tulip's aunt, Sheikh Hasina, in India. Sheikh Rehana is not able to come from India, leaving her sister Sheikh Hasina alone. The Indian government's security policy for Sheikh Hasina is also involved in the matter. Tulip's mother, Sheikh Rehana, was always by her side during every election, counting of votes late at night, and publishing results in the morning. But she did not get her mother to be by her side during the biggest difficult time of her political life. Fate is very cruel. Sheikh Hasina's government did not allow Khaleda Zia to come to London for treatment. Khaleda Zia is now in London. Her son is by her side. But in Tulip's hard times, her mother, despite being a British citizen, is unable to be by her side.

The story of the distance between Tulip and Tarique spread when top leaders of the UK BNP went to Tulip's constituency in groups to campaign against her. That was certainly not the case in the last elections. In British politics, politicians usually stand down without delay when a specific allegation or question is raised. They do not wait until the allegation is proven true or false. If Tulip had stepped down at the start of the controversy, she might not have been in this embarrassing situation today. The opposition is demanding her dismissal. Political commentators are writing columns condemning his continued hold on the post. However, Tulip could have extinguished the fire of controversy by stepping down last month. Although that situation has changed. If she had stepped down earlier, she could have at least somewhat saved herself from becoming the target of the so-called media trial. But like her aunt Sheikh Hasina's tendency to cling to power, it is pushing Tulip towards an increasingly controversial role in British politics. Anti-corruption minister Tulip Siddiq could lose her job if the investigation into her properties finds she broke government rules, a cabinet member has suggested today.Science Secretary Peter Kyle was asked about Ms Siddiq on Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips.Ms Siddiq insists she has "done nothing wrong".

Footnote: The practice of hatred and enmity in Bangladeshi politics is terrible. It is so low that even people who are seriously ill or have died many years ago are not spared. As this mistreatment continues, the bright history, memory, and examples of pride of the nation, starting from the great liberation war, are being lost. The tradition of standing by others in bad times is also being lost. Tulip's aunt Sheikh Hasina's main rival in Bangladeshi politics is Begum Khaleda Zia.

The London clinic she is undergoing treatment at is on the famous Harley Street in central London. The hospital is just one and a half miles from Tulip's constituency. The distance by car is less than seven minutes. None of the other three British Bangladeshi MPs or the executive mayor of Tower Hamlets have yet visited Begum Khaleda Zia. If Tulip Siddique visits Begum Khaleda Zia after crossing a distance of just seven minutes, everything will not change instantly.

The British mainstream media may not give much coverage. But we will give maximum coverage. We want a beautiful morning, end of darkness.

It is possible to build a beautiful society only if our politicians stay away from corruption and irregularities.
