UAE Golden Visa

The UAE has expanded its Golden Visa program in the last 12 months, allowing a greater range of high-net-worth individuals and specialized professions to settle there permanently. This calculated growth demonstrates the country's dedication to luring top people in fields like luxury, technology, and education, which will promote innovation and economic prosperity. The UAE's Golden Visa program now includes the following categories:

1. Outstanding Teachers and Educators

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) launched a new category in October 2024 called the Golden Visa, which is currently open to educators working in Dubai's schools and institutions. Teachers who have made exceptional contributions to the private education sector in the emirate are granted this long-term residency.

Eligible educators working in early childhood centres (ECCs), schools, and higher education institutions (HEIs) can qualify based on their academic achievements, contributions to innovation in education, and efforts to elevate educational standards in their institutions. The Golden Visa provides a renewable, 10-year residency that allows recipients to live and work in Dubai, with the added benefit of sponsoring their family members. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria set by the KHDA. For a detailed guide on the application process,

Ras Al Khaimah has also introduced a Golden Visa programme to recognise the contributions of private school educators. According to the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge (RAK DOK), the programme is open to teachers, principals, heads of departments, and school directors. This initiative underscores the emirate’s commitment to supporting educational excellence.

2. Dubai Gaming Visa

Dubai has taken a significant step to support its burgeoning e-sports scene by introducing the ‘Dubai Gaming Visa’ under the Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033 (DPG33). This 10-year Golden Visa category is available to individuals working in the gaming industry and was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

To apply, candidates must first secure an accreditation certificate from Dubai Culture and meet the minimum age requirement of 25 years. This initiative aims to position Dubai as a global hub for gaming and e-sports. For a step-by-step guide on securing your nomination

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) also supports gaming professionals and e-sports talents through its Golden Visa programme, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to this growing industry.

3. Golden Visa for Luxury Yacht Owners

Luxury yacht owners in Abu Dhabi can now qualify for a 10-year Golden Visa through the ‘Abu Dhabi Golden Quay’ initiative. This programme, introduced by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and Yas Marina, aims to attract high-net-worth individuals to invest in the emirate.

Private yacht owners with vessels 40 metres or longer can be nominated for the Golden Visa. The initiative also includes key executives in the yachting sector, shareholders of yacht-building companies, major agents, service providers, and insurers. Family members of nominated individuals are also eligible for residency under this programme.
