EU Strengthens Cooperation with Bangladesh to Ensure Safe and Dignified Migration

Bangladeshi workers remit over EUR 40 billion annually, contributing significantly to the economy. The European Union (EU) remains committed to promoting safe and dignified migration while taking swift action against irregular migration by returning individuals with no legal right to stay.

To combat irregular migration and trafficking, the EU provides essential equipment and training while also supporting the reintegration of returnees. During a visit to the Chief of Special Branch Police, Additional Inspector General Mr. Golam Rasul, EU Ambassador Miller, along with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), observed the Returnee Case Management System in real-time. The delegation also handed over critical operational equipment to strengthen migration control efforts.

Ambassador Miller emphasized the importance of robust international police cooperation in managing migration effectively, reinforcing the EU’s commitment to a structured and humane approach to migration governance.
