As pilgrims gather at the Grand Mosque for Ramadan, authorities have introduced dedicated prayer spaces for women, providing a serene environment for worship and essential services during the holy month.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has designated special prayer rooms for women, ensuring accessibility, comfort, and ease of movement during one of Islam’s busiest seasons.
These prayer areas are equipped with various services to enhance the spiritual experience. On-site healthcare support is available, with emergency medical teams stationed nearby. A dedicated lost and found service helps visitors recover personal belongings, while volunteers offer Quran memorization and recitation guidance for those seeking spiritual growth.
To support non-Arabic speakers, translated copies of the Quran are provided, and fasting women receive daily iftar meals as part of a broader hospitality effort.
In addition to spiritual provisions, logistical measures have been implemented to manage crowd flow efficiently. Entry and exit routes are carefully organized to prevent congestion, with trained staff available to offer guidance and religious counseling.
Special prayer areas have also been designated for women with disabilities, featuring wheelchair-accessible paths and supportive infrastructure to ensure inclusive worship for all.
