"We pray that Madam comes to London again for treatment. May she remain our guardian for many years. When she came to London from Bangladesh, the country's activists prayed for her healthy return home. Today, Madam is returning. We pray that she comes to London again for medical checkups or state needs, where we can meet her," said Nasrullah Khan Junaid, bidding farewell to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at London's Heathrow Airport on Monday.
After the August 5th change of Bangladesh , Junaid, a former leader of the Chhatra Dal Central Committee during the 90s mass movement, former Dhaka University senator, and chairman of the LSCI London, was the first BNP leader from London to visit Khaleda Zia in the hospital Dhaka.
Despite knowing they wouldn't be able to meet Begum Khaleda Zia due to security issues at Heathrow Airport, BNP activists from various European countries and UK cities gathered in London from Monday morning. They braved the bank holiday and inclement weather to bid her farewell.

Begum Khaleda Zia has been eager to return home after Eid-ul-Fitr. When she was brought to London in a Qatar air ambulance, assurances were given that Qatar would arrange her return to Bangladesh with their air ambulance. Accordingly, the BNP communicated with Qatar through the Bangladesh government. However, Begum Zia's family was unable to obtain specific details about the return flight.
Multiple sources close to Khaleda Zia's family in London confirmed to Daily Dazzling Dawn that her London visa was set to expire at midnight on Monday. Therefore, the decision was made to return home by commercial flight. Khaleda Zia's two physicians and BNP leader Tabith Awal arrived in London from Dhaka to accompany her.
After completing flight bookings and all preparations By Biman Bangalgladesh airlines, officials from the Qatar Embassy in London contacted AZM Zahid Hossain, a member of the BNP Standing Committee and Khaleda Zia's personal physician, by phone. After learning the details of Khaleda Zia's visa expiration, the Qatar official provided the Qatar air ambulance's schedule and details within twenty minutes.
On Sunday, the medical team that arrived with the Qatar air ambulance and Khaleda Zia's physicians completed her health checkups, Daily Dazzling Dawn understands.
Activists Head to Airport to Bid Farewell to Begum Zia
Sources further stated that the modern, spacious Qatar air ambulance has a seating capacity for 25 people. Initially, ten companions were scheduled to travel with Khaleda Zia, but including the three who arrived from Bangladesh, a total of 14 people will depart for home today.
As of this report, Begum Khaleda Zia was at Tarique Rahman's Kingston residence.
Nashir Ahmed Shahin, President of the UK Secha Sebok Dol told Daily Dazzling Dawn at 1:10 PM that, they were gathering near the Royal Suite at Heathrow Airport to bid Madam farewell. Over a thousand activists were expected to gather there. Tarique Rahman himself will drive Begum Khaleda Zia to the airport. Madam will address the activists' farewell reception there. The air ambulance is scheduled to depart at 4:15 PM London time.
Update at 2.31 Pm-At 1:30 PM local time, the vehicle carrying Khaleda Zia left her eldest son Tarique Rahman's Kingston residence and arrived at the VIP gate of Terminal 4 at Heathrow Airport at 2:25 PM. Supporters and activists from various levels of the UK BNP were seen lining the streets to greet her. They had been standing in an orderly fashion along the road leading to the VIP terminal at Heathrow since 1:30 PM. Activists who had gathered at the airport from different cities across the UK held various posters and banners wishing Khaleda Zia well.
