Shocking CCTV footage captures moment female gang, including pregnant woman, allegedly steal £1,800 of perfume in East London raid

Startling CCTV footage has captured the moment a group of four women — one of whom is pregnant — allegedly stole thousands of pounds' worth of perfume from a pharmacy in East London.

The brazen theft reportedly took place in broad daylight at a store in Mile End. Surveillance video, obtained by The Sun, appears to show the women forcing open a cabinet containing high-end products before stuffing numerous Dior perfumes and luxury gift sets into a reusable shopping bag.

One of the suspects is seen swiftly leaving after being confronted by a staff member. The remaining women allegedly pushed a teenage employee and fled the store on foot.

Pharmacy manager Dipak Raja, 36, said the group made off with around £1,800 worth of stock, which had been secured in a locked glass cabinet. He expressed disbelief over the involvement of an expectant mother, saying: “Britain is going downhill. I couldn't believe a pregnant woman could be involved in something like this. I hate to think what her child will learn from her.”

The Mile End pharmacy, like many businesses in Tower Hamlets — a borough with a higher crime rate than much of London — has taken extra precautions to protect its inventory. Despite this, Raja believes the group had premeditated the theft, as they appeared to have unlocked the cabinet rather than breaking the glass.

“It was very clever the way they did it,” Raja said. “This is the first time I’ve experienced anything like this.”

According to Raja, a customer raised suspicions, prompting a staff member to confront the group. The women denied any wrongdoing, but shoved an 18-year-old shop assistant on their way out.

Raja, who was helping another customer at the time, called police and chased after the suspects, but they managed to escape. He said the group ultimately got away by pushing through the accessible gate at Mile End tube station.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that no arrests have been made so far and inquiries are ongoing.
