Police in Accrington are investigating two separate stabbing incidents that occurred yesterday and are urging anyone with mobile phone or dashcam footage to come forward.

The first incident took place outside the Raza Jamia Masjid on Lower Antley Street in the afternoon, where a man in his 40s was stabbed in the back. Later, around 5 PM, a fight involving weapons broke out on nearby Steiner Street, leading to another stabbing just around the corner on Craven Street, where a second man was wounded in the neck.

Both victims are expected to survive. Authorities have arrested three individuals – a 36-year-old man and two women aged 33 and 36 – on suspicion of affray.

Lancashire Police have increased patrols in the area to support the investigation and reassure the community. Detective Inspector Lou Briggs emphasized that such violent incidents are uncommon in Accrington and acknowledged the concern it has caused.

She urged anyone with relevant footage to assist the inquiry and requested the public avoid spreading speculation while the investigation is ongoing.
