According to recent figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), tourists spent a total of €647 million in Ireland during June. This amount represents a six percent decrease compared to June 2024 but shows an eight percent increase compared to June 2023. The number of foreign visitors who completed trips to Ireland in June 2025 was 654,500, marking a two percent decrease from the previous year but a six percent increase compared to June 2023.
On average, tourists stayed in Ireland for 7.9 nights, an increase from the previous average of 7.3 nights. Collectively, visitors spent a total of 5.2 million nights in the country, showing a six percent rise from June 2024 and a notable 14 percent increase from June 2023.
The largest group of visitors came from Great Britain, accounting for 34 percent of all visits to Ireland in June. Following Great Britain, the United States constituted 25 percent of visitors, with Germany making up 8.4 percent.
Regarding the purpose of visits, 47.5 percent of visitors arrived in Ireland for holiday purposes, while 29.9 percent came to visit friends or family. Approximately 13 percent of visitors were in the country for work-related reasons.
