Eason had a strong rookie year last season, making valuable contributions as a backup. He recorded 9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 blocked shot in the first game of the season. Fagen also said the plan was to have Eason play in one game and miss the other as part of injury management. He was upgraded to availability before kickoff against the Lakers. Through four games so far this season, Eason is averaging 7.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from 3-point and free throws. Eason has also been one of the Rockets' better defensive players since returning to the court.
