Campaign for Media Freedom (CMF) provided training for 36 young journalists of the district on their own initiative without any help from the government or any NGO for the first time in Moulvibazar district.
This extraordinary training workshop was held on Saturday (February 17) at Moulvibazar Press Club in association with London-based first and only Bangladeshi owned English newspaper Daily Dazzling Dawn.
Since its inception, Campaign for Media Freedom has been working continuously to improve the professional standards and protect the interests of young journalists especially in South Sylhet including Moulvibazar. Apart from this, CMF has been organizing seminars, protests for the protest of journalist abuse and freedom for the media.
Moulvibazar Press Club president MA Salam presided over the event and CMF president Hossain Ahmad moderated the event as the chief guest was Mohammad Zillur Rahman, Member of Parliament for Moulvibazar-3 Constituency. Kalbela Sylhet Bureau Chief Liaquat Shah Faridi, Mashranga Television National Desk Incharge Sajib Sadiq, and Environmental Journalist Ripon Dey were special guests.
Kalbela Sylhet Bureau Chief Liaquat Shah Faridi, Mashranga Television National Desk Incharge Sajib Sadiq and Now Television reporter Belayet Hossain provided training on various topics.
Member of Parliament for Moulvibazar-3 Constituency Mohammad Zillur Rahman said that the present government is working to make journalism smarter. There is no substitute for training to upskill journalists. We all will make the press club in Moulvibazar a modern and smart press club.
