The Foreign Office has put 29 countries on red alert and announced which ones are on the UK's "No Travel" list. There are many places in the globe that visitors from the UK should avoid because there are about 200 countries and territories in all. The Foreign Office issues warnings for a variety of reasons, including wars and conflicts as well as concerns about safety and security risks.
