Egypt to work with new interim govt of Bangladesh

The government of Egypt has expressed its desire to work with the new government of Bangladesh in its efforts to restore political and economic stability in the country.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, on Sunday conducted a phone call to the Adviser for Foreign Affairs of the Interim government of Bangladesh, Touhid Hossain, and expressed his desire to work with the new interim government, said a press release of the Egyptian embassy in Dhaka issued on Monday.

In a statement, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, indicated that the Foreign Minister expressed Egypt's wishes for the new government of Bangladesh to succeed in its efforts to restore political and economic stability in the country.

The Spokesperson added that Dr. Abdelatty also expressed Egypt's appreciation for the distinguished course of relations between Egypt and Bangladesh, which has led to closer ties between the two peoples and alignment on a wide range of international issues of mutual concern.

The Spokesperson concluded his remarks by noting that the Foreign Minister emphasized Egypt's keenness for the coming period to witness continued cooperation between the two countries across various fields, further strengthening bilateral relations and serving the interests of both friendly nations.
