Mohamed Al Fayed is the target of a fresh allegation of sexual assault following the publication of an inquiry into the former owner of Harrods.The woman told the BBC that she thought authorities almost arrested him for her claims a few days before he passed away in August 2023. As part of a special inquiry, over 20 female former employees have spoken to the broadcaster and disclosed charges of physical aggression and assault at residences in London and Paris.

Melanie, a former employee of Harrods, has been accused of sexual abuse by businessman Al Fayed. Melanie was forced to leave Harrods after being sexually assaulted by him. The allegations were reported to the police in 2023, but Al Fayed died in August 2023. Harrods' current owners are "utterly appalled" by the allegations and have set up a page on their website inviting former employees to come forward. Al Fayed, born in Alexandria, built a business empire in London and took control of Harrods in 1985.
